It is important to make your initial appointment with the Practice Nurse as early as possible  - at least 6 weeks before you travel. The Nurse will discuss your travel arrangements during this appointment and probably give you the first of your vaccinations.  Some vaccines have to be ordered, e.g. Rabies, as they are not a stock vaccine hence we request you make an early appointment;  subsequent appointments will be arranged by the Nurse.

Most travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge.  This is because travel vaccination is not included in the services provided by the NHS and therefore is a chargeable service.

There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links above, however, these may vary according to prevailing conditions and the Nurse will have the most up to date information.
